AQUARELLE
In the attic hangs a painting your late teacher left behind: "Spring — do not finish." You touch one drop of color to its empty eyes, and a girl steps out of the canvas. She has no colors of her own yet. Raise her over eight springs in the canal city of Velune, in this watercolor raising sim. What she learns, who she meets and how she feels as she grows become her colors, and on her eighteenth spring her final portrait is complete.
One choice a month, 96 in all
From April of her tenth year to March of her eighteenth, you pick one thing for each month: eight lessons such as the academy, the fencing hall and color magic, eleven jobs such as the flower shop, the gondolas and painting restoration, and three ways to rest.
Nine colors
Vitality, strength, swordplay, intellect, magic, artistry, grace, charm and virtue. The status screen is a paint palette. Her ending follows the color that runs deepest in her, more than the size of any number.
Stress drains the color
Push her too hard and her portrait in the atelier visibly fades. Never let her rest and she falls ill; let her grow tired while drifting away from you and she may run away from home.
Seven people, 48 scenes
Theo, the gondolier's son; Lucien, heir to the ducal house; Captain Rhea of the canal guard; Bianca, who must be first at everything. And Ink, the black cat who talks after dark, and the secret your teacher left behind.
Outings and four contests
Seven places to go together once a month, from a canal walk to the glasshouse and the lantern festival. The Flower Queen in spring, the canal fencing tournament in summer, the salon exhibition in autumn and the lantern ball on the last night of the year. Forty things to buy.
Twenty endings in gold frames
She can become a knight captain, an archmage, a prima donna or the baker by the canal. Each ending is revealed as a final portrait in a gold frame and kept in the album, and the endings you have not seen yet leave hints there.
